Our Methodology
Last updated: 2026-08-19
This page explains how Pro Trader Daily researches and evaluates the products and markets we cover. Our goal is transparency: every ranking and assessment is based on publicly verifiable data, not undisclosed testing.
How We Evaluate Crypto Exchanges
We assess exchanges across five dimensions using publicly available information:
- Security & track record — published security disclosures, historical incident records, proof-of-reserves reporting
- Fees — official published fee schedules for spot, maker/taker and withdrawal
- Supported assets — number of listed coins and trading pairs
- Regulatory standing — registrations and licenses filed with regulators (SEC, FCA, MAS, and others)
- Liquidity — reported trading volume from public market-data aggregators
How We Assess Crypto Wallets
- Security model — custodial vs non-custodial, key management approach
- Supported chains & assets — breadth of blockchain and token support
- Backup & recovery — seed phrase handling, recovery options
- Transparency — whether the codebase is open source and independently audited
How We Analyze Markets
Market analysis draws on public data sources including price and volume data from aggregators such as CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap, on-chain data, and official announcements from regulators and projects. Market commentary is informational and is not personalized investment advice.
Rating Principles
- Public data only — every claim traces back to a verifiable public source
- Transparency — we explain the basis for each assessment
- Regular updates — rankings are revisited as source data changes
- Independence — assessments are not influenced by advertisers or platform operators
What We Don’t Do
- We do not provide personalized financial or investment advice
- We do not publish performance figures or test results we cannot trace to a public, verifiable source
- We do not accept payment to alter rankings or assessments
